Sink, range, and fridge form a triangle with each leg between 4 and 9 ft.
36"–48" walkways
Single-cook walkways at least 36 inches; double-cook 42–48 inches.

Symmetry first
Fills 54" with 27+27 (matching doors), not 24+30 (mismatched faces).
Mirror wall over base
Wall cabinet widths align with base widths so vertical seams line up.

Pantries and ovens flank a run, never sandwiched between bases.

Is the AI Designer really free?+
Yes — completely free, no account required. We pay for the AI usage; you pay nothing. We hope you'll consider us when you're ready to buy, but there's no obligation.
Does the AI only suggest cabinets you actually sell?+
Yes. The AI is constrained to the active catalog of the collection you've selected. It cannot suggest fantasy cabinets — every recommendation is a real SKU with a real price you can add to your cart immediately.
What design rules does the AI follow?+
We baked in the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) guidelines plus our own in-house symmetry standards. That means a 13–26 ft work triangle, 36–48" walkways, 15" landings beside cooktops, balanced door widths (e.g. 27+27 instead of 24+30), and tall cabinets grouped at the ends of runs.
Can I edit what the AI builds?+
Absolutely. The AI is a starting point. Drag any cabinet to move it, click to delete, or pick something different from the catalog. The 3D view updates in real time.
Will the AI replace my designer?+
No — and we don't want it to. The AI is great for exploration and budgeting; a human designer is better at edge cases, code questions, and turning a layout into a buildable plan. Use both: build with the AI, then hand it off to our free pro service for a final review.
What's the 'Place all on canvas' button?+
When the AI suggests a set of cabinets, instead of placing them one by one you can click 'Place all on canvas' and we'll snap-place every recommended cabinet collision-free in one move — preferring the wall the AI suggested and falling back if there's no room.
How accurate is the pricing?+
Cabinet prices are pulled live from our catalog and reflect current closeout pricing. Freight is estimated separately at checkout based on your ZIP code, cabinet count, and assembly status.
Can I save my design?+
Yes — your design persists in your browser session. To save it permanently or share it, send it to our pro design team using the 'Request Pro Design' link and we'll keep a copy on file.
Does it work on mobile?+
The AI chat works on mobile, but for actually placing cabinets we strongly recommend a desktop or tablet. The 2D/3D canvas needs the screen real estate.
What models power the AI?+
By default we use OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini for speed and cost. Our admin team can swap to GPT-4o or GPT-4.1 for more complex layouts. Token usage and cost are tracked internally so we keep the service free.
